A previous stint as an independent consultant encompassed work for a network equipment manufacturer and the paper chemicals division of Rohm & Haas.

Mark earned an M.S. in Public Relations from Boston University's College of Communication and a B.A. in English from Villanova University. He served in the U.S. Navy where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and was a Division and Public Affairs Officer.
